The Blackboard Learning Institute (BLI) provides comprehensive faculty training in Blackboard, including course design and development, and best practices in using a variety of online tools for learning.

The BLI also includes online course development, culminating in IDST-10, a 1.5-unit course that fosters the development of mentoring relationships among faculty, and the encouragement of online course development.

The TMI unit works with the Academic Senate‘s Distance Learning Committee (DLC) to ensure technical approval standards for online courses.

Training Compensation Choices

All faculty have one of two choices for how they can be compensated for participating in the BLI program. Please let TMI staff know at your first session your choice from below.

1. Flex Credit
2. Professional Advancement Credit
